New York, NY —The National Development Council (NDC) is pleased to announce that nineteen non-profit organizations have been selected to receive a total of $125,250 for their service to some of the most under-resourced, low-income communities across the United States.

Each of the nineteen award-winning organizations are working to advance economic, racial, or social equity. They are located in federally designated RECAP areas (Racially and Ethnically Concentrated Areas of Poverty), are led by a person or persons who identify with a group that has historically faced disadvantages, or a have a strong mission focus. These are the categories of communities served or of leadership affiliation:
•   14 – Women
•   8 – Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC)
•   1 – Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Intersex, and Asexual (LGBTQIA+)
•   3 – Led by a person(s) who identifies with another group that has historically
faced disadvantages (other than those mentioned above)

These annual awards are made possible by the NDC Employee-Directed Charitable Contribution Fund through NDC’s Give Back program. Funded from NDC and managed by NDC’s Employee Advisory Group, employees nominate and vote on organizations that will receive awards.
