Last week, the House Small Business Committee held a hearing examining the small business perspective of the development and use of America’s infrastructure, particularly how surface transportation and access to broadband promote economic growth among small businesses.
This hearing comes weeks after the Trump Administration released its Infrastructure proposal and the Congress passed a final FY18 budget which includes an additional $21.2 billion in infrastructure spending.
Across the Capitol – The Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship held a hearing entitled “Preparing small businesses for Cybersecurity Successes” in which the committee examined the opportunities and threats to the digital footprints of small businesses.
Lastly April 29th – May 5th 2018 is National Small Business Week by proclamation of the President of the United States and executed by SBA. This is a great opportunity to reach out to your members of Congress and external stakeholders to build awareness about your businesses and the need for continued support for the Small Business Community. Both the House and Senate will be on recess this week and with the midterm elections looming on the horizon, members are looking for opportunities to be visible in their communities. I encourage you to reach out to your members and invite them to your businesses.
