Congratulations to Raquel Favela and Dryck Bennett for being awarded NDC Trainers of the Year!
Raquel Favela, based in San Antonio, Texas, joined the National Development Council (NDC) as a Field Director in 2007. With over 22 years of experience, Raquel works with local communities to help them achieve a wide variety of community development finance goals that include small business credit analysis and financing, commercial/industrial real estate development and affordable and market rate rental and for-sale housing. Under HUD engagement, Raquel has served as lead provider in restructuring troubled projects to achieve compliance with regulations and maximize public benefit. Prior to joining NDC, Raquel was the Assistant Director of the Planning and Community Development Department for the City of San Antonio, TX. In addition to being a Certified Economic and Housing Development Finance and Professional, Raquel holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of San Antonio.
Dryck Bennett is the Chief Credit Officer for the National Development Council’s Grow America Fund. He possesses nearly 20 years of experience in economic/community development and finance resulting in hundreds of millions in projects in those communities. Dryck is skilled in utilizing multi-faceted government tax incentive, loan and workforce development programs coupled with complex private financing to bring real estate and business projects to fruition. He also has experience in non-profit organization management and administration. Mr. Bennett holds a Master’s in History and Master’s Degree in Urban Planning, Design and Economic Development.
