Stories of Impact

After careful consideration, we have decided to close the National Development Council’s Washington, DC Office. The staff is winding down all current activities and closure will be completed by August 31, 2018.  Although this was a difficult decision given NDC’s involvement with the White House, Congress and federal agencies over the last fifty-years, we believe it is the correct move and will allow NDC to focus on our core mission of directing capital to assist low-income communities, families and individuals.

Regretfully, the position of Director will be eliminated and Jane Campbell, the current Director of our Washington Office, will be leaving NDC to pursue other interests. I would like to thank Jane for her work on behalf of NDC, our clients and mission partners. Through Jane’s efforts, NDC’s voice, alongside those of our coalition partners, have helped us preserve important programs and benefits like New Markets Tax Credits, Historic Tax Credits and the tax exemption for Municipal Bonds. Jane has also helped educate thousands of community and economic development practitioners on important topics like the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act Legislation through NDC’s Washington Webinar Series. We wish Jane the best of luck as she seeks her next opportunity, and we look forward to working with her in the future. Several months ago Ken Baker, who has been an important part of our Washington presence, accepted the position of East Region Field Director. In this position, Ken will continue to expand his role and involvement in delivering critical community and economic development products and services to our client communities.
